Nobody wants to have to terminate or end a client relationship, but if you’ve been in the estate planning practice, you know that there are cases that you’ve taken on that you just can’t (or don’t want to) represent and handle any further.  In these circumstances, it’s best to terminate the attorney-client relationship but you might not know how to do that.
This is a form letter template that can be used to terminate a client relationship in a way that’s direct, to-the-point, but also covers all bases, including making it very clear that your firm no longer represents this client in his or her estate planning matters and also provides recommendations and instructions as to what the client should do from here.
